RSS has many good things, says Christian religious leader

A senior Christian leader from the Indian state of Kerala recently praised Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) saying it has many good things.
According to a news report published in Keralakaumudi.com, a leading digital platform of Kerala, “Geevarghese Mar Yulios, the metropolitan bishop of Kunnamkulam Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, has heaped praises on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Speaking to the media, he said that it is not correct to interpret by taking only one part of the Vicharadhara (ideology) and that the Church does not have any political untouchability towards BJP.” It may be recalled that Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) which is ruling at the Centre is also considered to be an ideological mentee of the RSS by many analysts and commentators.
The report further quoted the Metropolitan Bishop Geevarghese Mar Yulios: “The RSS has many good things They are doing physical training for defence purposes. They are not doing it to attack or kill anyone. It is not right to interpret by just taking one part of the Vicharadhara(ideology).”
Bishop Yulios indicated that the RSS and its ideology should be looked at holistically to get the right perspective about it as he emphasised while appreciating the RSS as an organisation , “The Orthodox Church has a theory. We do not interpret the Holy Book just by taking one line from it. We interpret holistically.”
It may be recalled that in Kerala, the RSS volunteers have been the target of violence by the Communists for more than seven decades. More than 270 RSS volunteers have been brutally killed by the Communists in Kerala during this period.
In December 2020, a book, authored by Professor A.K.M. Das titled RSS in Kerala: A Saga of Struggle, was released by RSS Sarsanghchalak (chief mentor) Mohan Bhagwat at the city of Kozhikode in Kerala. This is a first-of-its kind complete documentation about violence against RSS volunteers in Kerala where it has been the victim of planned violence the communists.
